“With a breadth across the ship of nearly sixty feet, a driving concern is getting sunlight deep into the interior. Light from normal windows only penetrates so far. This is why big cruiseships have multi-story atriums with skylights running down the spine of the ship, staterooms lining both the atrium, and the outside face of the ship.”
